Our Story
2019
I can't believe it but it's been twelve years now, around the fall of 2006, when I happened upon my first taste of an early education music class in San Francisco, California. The moment I entered that glorious room filled with babies, children and their parents singing and dancing, playing instruments, and making music, a spark lit in me and I knew I had found what I was meant to be doing. I had no children of my own yet. I had left the pursuit of a record deal in Los Angeles and lots of gigging to move to Sonoma County and earn a teaching credential. Subsequently I was running around Marin County, singing at open mics and writing songs with no real to desire to actually teach high school English. Music has always been my first love and the only career path that I could ever stick to. So the moment I walked in that room everything clicked and my fate was sealed.
I went on to become certified to teach early education music classes through an internationally renowned program and after teaching for them for a few years with no possibility of growth I took a hiatus to teach private guitar, piano and voice lessons in Sonoma, CA. One day I received a phone call from a mama who had been in one of the classes I taught with her first baby in Marin County prior to my hiatus (thank you Holly Nissalke!). She urged me to come back and teach a group of parents and children in her living room in the summer of 2009. I said YES and it was the best decision of my life. It was then that MINI MUSIC was born!
After that first summer and autumn of Mini Music I met my husband to be, Warren Mann. We bonded on our shared love of music and decided to take a plunge into relationship, music and business partnership, marriage and eventually parenthood! Since 2010 we have written, produced and recorded nine CDs worth of music and taught hundreds of classes and thousands of families together. We have developed our Mini Music program with love, children and parenthood, and the pure joy of music in mind! The result has been a true creation of our hearts. We are living our passion of music surrounded by the communities we love and could not be more grateful for all the support we've received along the way. Mini Music was born from love and continues to be an experience of joy each and every day. We hope you agree :)
